Welcome

Cottingham Parish Council has been serving the villagers of Cottingham, on the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire border, since the late 19th Century.

Our first Chairman, Cllr W Yates, took up the role in 1894 shortly after the Parish Council's formation under the Local Government Act, which was one of the last pieces of legislation to be passed by Prime Minister William Gladstone.

Since then, some 16 Chairmen and Chairwomen, along with six Parish Clerks, have been working with councillors elected or co-opted from around Cottingham to ensure that the village's rural and forward thinking nature is preserved for generations to come.

This website is designed to keep you up-to-date with all the latest news from the Parish Council so if there's anything you think we should know, or if you have any feedback, comments or suggestions, please get in touch.

Peter Taylor
Parish Clerk
